Color me Earthy!

When my summer wardrobe hits a saturation point, I take deep pleasure in indulging in easy on eyes earthy tones. If given a choice, I would dress up in dull/washed out tones h2t everyday. There is just something so mysteriously appealing about these shades, earthy tones do not overtake your personality like how bold and bright colors do, if anything, they add to it. Though, it doesn't mean that I completely turn my back on bright colors, No way! I still love adding hint of vibrancy through bold lips, shoes or a colorful bag. Here I have 3 differently styled outfits to fit each, work, shopping and party. Hope you like the ideas :)

The day I was Queen!

If dressing like a milady is a crime, I plead guilty of it, but, so is being born in the wrong era. The feeling only grows stronger with the visual delight in shows like Downtown Abbey, Mad Men, Agent carter and a few more. I am one of those who admires vintage style, but, prefers a modern interpretation. My obsession for vintage fashion makes me feel that I don't belong here, would give up anything to get transported back to a place where dressing whimsical was a way of life.
This look started with my Burberry bag, poor thing has been collecting dust in my closet far too long, got extended to my fur cape(almost a shrug), then came the skirt and soon it took a turn that left me crushing over this look so much that I couldnt sleep for a week straight, cause I thought what if the weather becomes warmer and I look like a fool in fur. But, my good karma came to my rescue with a colder day and I pounced on it like a hungry tiger on meat. Though, I was shivering by the time we wrapped the shoot, but, least did I care. 'I did it', I said out loud to my inner diva.

The fur cape and the statement necklace are the lead attention gainers, the nude tone of my pleated petticoat style midi skirt(which was an oversized maxi dress originally, but, few changes before it settled for a high waisted skirt on me) paired up with a basic cropped spaghetti top just plays along. Have I mentioned the scarf yet? Darling, it was love at first sight. What a perfect color for indulging into light layering, as if the print wasn't an excuse enough.

Its very unlikely for you to not feel like a queen when all that power(read: Po-fur) is resting on your shoulders, be it faux!

Over and under of layering!

Layering is an excuse, overtly used(read: abused) by fashion enthusiasts(including me) to hide the fact that we are wearing way too many clothes at once. Pardon the pun, but, we are usually running out of much needed storage space in our closet or simply couldn't decide on just one item. Too much love for clothes could lead to this.I don't love winters, not even a bit and since hibernation isn't possible, I pretend to enjoy the chill. Though thankfully its the only weather that makes my invisible frame come to terms with some visibility. My almost non-existent weight finds existence under multiple layers that frame my body. Gravity could use some help holding me down to the ground, I could be flying free every time the wind starts blowing. So, when people complain about looking fat under all those layers, I cherish the blessing in disguise. And guess what? I might have sounded like someone who loves this weather, but, I truly and faithfully don't.

Winter looks need to be cozy yet stylish. A warm jumper paired with a pair of woolen stockings, a skater skirt and all tied together by an overcoat, indeed makes for a very cozy look. Mixing prints and solid colors is always a good idea, and just a pinch of swag wouldn't hurt either.

How do you survive the chill fashionably?
