Red love

All is fair in love and war and high heeled shoes. If all the other love cliches like getting tongue tied, heart skipping beats and sparkly eyes stand true for high heels, it is love indeed. If I had my way, I would have shoes hanging on every wall instead of paintings, for the stories they tell, the miles they walked, the places they saw, dresses they killed, feet they bit, ankles they hurt and beauty they left wherever they went.

Shoes are admired unconditionally by women fraternity and I am no exception. In fact, I think the purpose of my life is to love shoes and get bitten by them in return. Only shoes could bring any other expression other than the usual frown on my face. Here is a piece of my life through Red shoes! You could take me out of my high heels, but, how would you take the high heels out of me!

50 shades of Nude!

My dreams are nude in color. Now, what color is that? While you wonder what shade of nude must my dreams look like(cream, blush, beige, camel, tan, pink, pale rose, gold or caramel shade?), I'll give you a colorful insight of the palette I am lusting after this summer: Shades of Nude!

There is absolutely nothing as whimsical and as timeless as shades of nude. This look is an evidence of a strong bond I share with this palette. Other than the basic chambray shirt, EVERYTHING is a version of nude. Huh! I have never been so covered and yet so NUDE!
This is the 2nd time this skirt and this shirt are making an apperance on my blog. My loyalty is still a lil questionable, but, not the versatility of this basic shirt and this skirt. They team well anything with and everything.

This look demanded more attention around my neck, so I pulled my hair back in a high pony tail(or may be it was just a bad hair day, but, we'd never know that). Side swept fringe is intentional to cover a bit of my forehead (mostly wrinkles!). A matte red lipstick and an (almost) perfected cat eyed liner can make even dead come alive(My spirits in this case).
The collar brooch is a DIY( though it means Do-it-yourself, but, in my house its Designer-in-you). This pretty thing came off from one of my photo frames while dusting, being a collector of all things beautiful, I hid it in a corner of my jewelry box(I must have been a Junk dealer in my past life). A safety pin attached with a glue at the back of this piece made it worthy of being kept safe.

The light embroidered, net cover up is again my own creation. I wear it too often to cover my bare shoulders from prying eyes and (btw, layering is a summer thing too!)
The bag! Oh dear, where to begin? Worthy of all the attention. Its gone now (to my sista!) So, lets just end it here.

Speeding ticket to summer!

Well, if there is anything bearable about the summer, it's the freedom to leave half your clothes behind and head out like a beach is waiting for us right on the next block. But, one step in the sun and reality brings me back to the skin melting temperature(at a speed that can put any fast and furious car ride to shame).

After making peace with the fact that there's ain't no beach and I ain't no model, I switched to finding what fits the need of the humidiest hour(Yes! I don't think the word exists, but, you get the point). Georgette/chiffon outfits in pastel shades are the closest things to a breeze in Delhi. Super comfortable and light enough to wear throughout the day. I paired a printed blouse with a pleated knee length skirt. I can wear this combination all summer(*minus the shoe).

Shoes, yes!How love at first sight leaves you blushing for no reason, I blushed too. But, these super pretty pumps were full of revenge and gave a big ugly shoe bite. I haven't stopped wondering why do I always fall for the prettiest shoes even when they always hurt the most later(both, my pocket and my feet) Whatever, I'll tame them soon.

If you're still hating summer for being summer, you might wanna binge on some songs to put your perspective in line. I am listening to Bruce Springsteen's 'Girls in their summer clothes' on loop(how else do you binge?).

Little Black Dreams: LBD

He pulled his camera out and I posed!!
What's your recipe to a night you  will remember(or the one that you won't at all, as suggested by KESHA!)?
Mine begins at  a Black dress and ends at Black shoes.

Black is always magical and equally devil-icious(just what we want for a Friday night club hopping).
Remember, irrespective of how meanly you get stared at in your LBD, your favourite dress is never too little, never too black, never too tight, never too sad. The Coco Chanel in you deserves a little treat every now and then, feed it with a perfect dose of  jealousy.

Black tube dress, curly hair, bold lippie and black heels, my little black dreams can't get any black(er). Sequin layover on the dress and golden studs on the shoes were jewels enough to make me shine(like a walking black diamond)!

When I blush, I turn plaid!

If love has a pattern, I'm sure its plaid.
Would be a white lie if I claimed to not being a fan of fit and flare dresses. 90% of my skirts and one-piece dresses won't let me deny any of it either. This dress in particular has made me exhaust half of my lifetime's supply of drool already, its plaid after all. Don't sweat, this print and color might not scream summer, but, the light fabric and bare legs do.

Since blogging about outfits give me a freedom to wear anything to a neighborhood park, I took the liberty of being odd-one once again and walked like as if I have just been transported from a different planet.

Looked one or not, I definitely felt like a doll in this dress, though, I agree that my expressions are still excusable. Hoping to make up for the lack of expressions in the styling bit, I added to the doll-like feeling of the dress with a pair of ankle-strap pumps, a belt at mid waist and a not-to-be-missed-out necklace to add to the beauty of the neckline. I have been practicing a cat-eyed liner these days, it isn't perfect yet, but, I am not giving up anytime soon.
